They might've preferred to allocate their resources to do the CGI on other scenes, like the (unnecessary) dragon chase. I remember being incensed about the maze being so different and creatureless, but now I get that maybe it would be too expensive of a scene. CGI was also costlier back when the HP movies were released. But others are just plain weird! Sometimes, they had to cut or combine characters. It's weird how many plot points were changed in the movie. I think Goblet of fire did by far the worst job at filming the books which is disappointing because the book is just sooo good! I just wanted to share my thoughts and I'm interested to hear what other people think of it.

Of course, every Harry Potter film did some in my opinion questionable and bad choices but Goblet of fire is full of them and the result is a completely boring movie with the exception of the finale and a few scenes in between. Many people are also upset about the excluding of the quidditch game but I don't like quidditch so I'm atually happy about it but it surely doesn't make any sense to build the game up that way and then not include it. How could one possibly fuck this up? What is so upsetting about this is that it doesn't fit his character at all. And of course the meme "Dumbledore asked camly". Why did they exclude Ludo Bagman who is one of the most important characters in the story? What's with the disappearing and weird behaviour of Barty Crouch? What's with elf rights and Dobby? What's with the whole story of Barty Crouch Jr?! That was so interesting and exciting! Why did they exclude that? Why was literally not a single creature in the whole labyrinth? And why did they on the other hand added that the dragon escapes and hunts Harry? That was boring af and much too long! They also added some cringey scenes in between. But the book is at least one of my favourites if not my favourite of them all! In the movie they changed so many things to the worse. Hermione asks Harry which potion ingredients Snape accused him of stealing and realizes they are the ingredients needed for the Polyjuice Potion.I was surprised as I reread the books how much I liked Goblet of fire because I always thought the movie was the worst after the first two. The trio speak about what Karkaroff was showing Snape on his arm.She recommends Harry goes to visit Dumbledore. Hermione believes his death, Harry's scar burning, and the Dark Mark at the Quidditch World Cup are related.

Ron thinks that Fudge will prevent the story from leaking out to the public. Mad-Eye appears and Barty quickly leaves.

Snape doesn't care about what Karkaroff has to say. Snape ignores him and removes house points from Fawcet and Stebbins, who briefly appear in the scene.

Karkaroff tells Snape about the mark of his arm.The lead singer speaks with the audience and then starts the first song. Flitwick introduces the Weird Sisters at the Yule Ball.Harry tries to speak with Cho Chang, but as she is constantly surrounded by friends, he doesn't get the opportunity. She says yes, and two of their friends make gestures in the background. A Durmstrang student asks a girl to go with him to the Yule Ball. All the Hogwarts students then start to sing the school song. Dumbledore asks his pupils to welcome Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students.
